Alan oversees the company’s accounting, finance, IT, strategy, M&A and procurement functions, including corporate controller, financial planning and analysis, tax and treasury.
In 2016 Alan joined U.S. Silica as Vice President Strategy to lead mergers and acquisitions and strategy at the corporate level as well as across U.S. Silica’s many organizations. He was promoted to Senior Vice President Strategy in October of 2021.
Throughout his career, Alan has worked to drive financial improvement strategies grounded in customer insights. While at U.S. Silica, he has led acquisitions, capital investments and profit improvement initiatives that today deliver the vast majority of U.S. Silica’s EBITDA.
Prior to joining U.S. Silica, Alan worked as a strategy consultant at Bain and Company where he led teams to create growth strategies, conduct diligence and improve operations. He also served as VP of Enterprise Growth and Portfolio Strategy at TDS, a telecommunications company, where he led efforts to expand into new business segments.
Alan earned a BS in industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard University.
